New Nvidia graphics cards: GeForce RTX 3070, 3080 and 3090
We've all been waiting for the new Nvidia graphics cards for some time now. The GeForce RTX 3080 will be launched on September 17th.
8K gaming coming soon – RTX 3090
The powerhouse of Nvidia's latest graphics card generation is the RTX 3090. With 10,496 CUDA cores, it is the official successor to the Titan RTX.
A relaxed 350 watts are required so that you can supply the graphics card with power on your own. So a PSU upgrade is already an option for a lot of people who haven't bothered with it in recent years.
Despite the high electricity bill, Nvidia promises 8K resolution with more than 60 frames per second.
A proud 24 GB GDRR6X graphics memory is installed in this monster. Nevertheless, according to Nvidia, it is ten times quieter and 30 degrees cooler. With proper airflow in your case, you'll never run the risk of overheating your GPU.
Look for an offer has its price. The RTX 3090 will cost the equivalent of around €1499.00 on the German market. A bit overkill for the normal gamer. But very attractive for video editors or streamers who record their gameplay at the same time.
Good deal for a small dollar – RTX 3070
For the budget build, the GeForce RTX 3070 is the card we've always wanted. The cheapest model of the new RTX generation will cost the equivalent of €499.00 (as of September 2nd, 2020). In addition, it is even more powerful than the top model of the last generation, the RTX 2080 TI.
€499 really isn't the world when we're talking about a card that even puts the 2080 TI in its pocket. Along with a decent CPU, the 3070 would still be one of the most expensive parts in a PC build . Still, an option you should keep open.
The only disadvantage of the 3070 is the relatively slow graphics memory of 8 GB GDDR6. This model is the only one that does not have an ultra-fast GDDR6X graphics memory pre-installed.
The best value for money – RTX 3080
The RTX 3080 is the new generation "mid-range" model. The 3080 will be available from us for the equivalent of €699.00. It is also the first model to be launched in Germany.
The time has already come on September 17th. The cheap model 3070 will not appear until October. However, the RTX 3080 is probably the best choice for the majority of gamers.
The 10 GB GDDR6X graphics memory and 8704 CUDA cores are powered via two 8-pin connectors.
